Jessica Leigh Morrisy Photography & Graphic Design bio picture

{ modern lifestyle and boudoir photography with vintage flair }

Bonjour!  My name is Jessica Leigh Morrisy, I am a photographer and graphic designer from the Jersey Shore specializing in lifestyle portraiture: weddings, portraits, Goddess/boudoir, and children's portraits- you name it.  When I don't have my camera in hand, I am working as a graphic designer... creating logos, branding, packaging, etc... Both of my interests keep me buzzing, so this blog is a place to keep clients and potential clients posted on my recent happenings as well as giving some insight into who I am as an artist.

I feel blessed to say I love what I do.  This profession enables me to incorporate all that I love, art, style, design, travel, love, relationships, and people.  It is truly a joy.

Thanks for stopping by...please sign up for my mailing list!  I'd love to hear from you!

xoxo

{ Jasmine Star Workshop • Attendees Portrait Session • Laguna Beach CA }

Sometimes the stars align perfectly, and you meet your soul mate.  Well, in this particular case, I met a class full!  In November I attended the Jasmine Star Workshop- which has changed my life forever.  The workshop was fabulous, but what amazed me most were the friendships that I walked away with.  I never imagined that I would meet so many kindred spirits.

It all started over social networking…yes facebook!  Where would we be without it.  Anyway, we started a group that included everyone from the workshop.  We got to know each other before meeting which was wonderful and arranged a get together to shoot some headshots for eachother.  (Yes even photographers need their photos taken!)  We met in Laguna Beach for portraits and deep dish pizza!  The perfect afternoon.  My boyfriend Mike and I even had our portraits taken…(poor guy- no pressure or anything!)  The following are some portraits I shot of the amazing photographers I had the pleasure of meeting.  Check out their websites too!

This first shot shows just how excited we are about the workshop!  Woo Hoo!

Michelle Lehmann Ocampo is a girl after my own heart- she loves Anthropologie!  Can’t you tell by her super cute outfit!

The Paparazzi!

Anda Marie is such a beautiful person.  She has such a lively spirit and fun way!

Keyonna Renea was so stylish and had a contagious smile.  Oh yeah- she rocked out her portraits with style:)

Julie Spencer Massie was delightful.  She is not only funny, but also spreads her enthusiasm of photography.

Gladys Gem is such an awesome person!  She is such a tiny person- but has a huge heart:)  She was recently engaged to Chris, affectioantely called Mr Gem, so we took some engagement shots.  These two are just the sweetest couple- they had a running countdown till there wedding next year.  I am so happy for them both and hope to catch up with them again very soon!

I can’t even express in words how much these people mean to me.  It it the best feeling in the world to have such an amazing support group and cheerleading squad.  I know we will all keep in touch.  Not pictured but also dear to me:  Radelle Adam Jenson , Anouschka and Ray from Holland, Cassandra and Alicia Lauren (who I am shooting a destination wedding with in Newport this June:)  So psyched!

xoxo

Anouschka - You are just the sweetest!!! Love these pictures! You and Mike are very dear to us aswell, cannot wait to meet up with you again either in Holland or the US :-D

Alecia Lauren - You are such a sweetheart!! I can't wait to shoot with you!

{ Sarah & John • Winter Wonderland Wedding • Portraits • Nyack NY }

These are some of my favorite shots of Sarah and John’s winter wedding.  We were really lucky with the storm, snow didn’t arrive till the ceremony started.  We are able to get some wintery, vintage shots in front of the fabulous 1930’s antique car- with just a gorgeous dusting of snow!  I love the way the car, Sarah’s vintage fur shrug, and John in his long overcoat appear – they remind me of a wintery scene in a classic hollywood movie.   LOVE IT!

The reception, held at the Nyack Seaport, overlooks the Hudson and has picturesque views of the tapenzee bridge.  Unfortunately, the snow had really started to come down at that point, so we weren’t able to get down by the water- but we made due.  Sarah put it perfectly on her blog- we were in our own personal “snow globe.”

Congratulations Sarah and John!

Happy 2010!  I hope everyone has a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year! I must say, 2009 was a great year for me personally and professionally, I am somewhat sad to see it go.  I went into 2009 with no expectations, but was delightfully amazed to have one of the best years of my life!  I feel so blessed, I can hardly wait to see what 2010 has in store!

I am soooooo grateful for the wonderful clients I have been lucky enough to photograph.  It is the most amazing feeling when people welcome you into their lives to document their most special moments.  They start off as strangers and end up as friends.  My clients truly rock:)

Now with that being said, here are  the ceremony shots of Sarah and John’s beautiful winter wedding.  As I post this, they are probably on the beach in Hawaii….so hope you guys are having a blast!

Enjoy and Happy New Year!

Jenn - Gorgeous!!!! Every detail captured beautifully!! You rock, Jess!!

Sarah - Jessica, these are incredible! Thank you so much for sharing them all!

Alecia Lauren - Gorgeous!!! I love it!

{ Sarah & John • Winter Wonderland Wedding • Preparations • Nyack NY }

I feel so blessed to say- I have the best clients!!!  Sarah and John exude love.  I mean you can truly feel how much they care about eachother when you are with them.  Their family and friends are beaming, beaming because the are so happy for them.  It is such a beautiful sight to behold.

Sarah is so incredible…she had everything planned for their day perfectly.  She was so amazing at planning, but most importantly, she start a blog to document her wedding planning.  What a fabulous idea!!  I was able to check regularly to see was important to her on her wedding day, each item that she had taken special care selecting, what was specially made, and how important it was.  Every detail had a story.  When I arrived, every piece fell into place…and I knew exactly how important it was to them.

The wedding was beautiful- even though the northeast encountered a huge winter storm.  No one seemed mind at all- in fact, the storm held off till the ceremony was over, and made for some beautiful winter wedding photos.

Here are the preparation photos- stay tuned for the ceremony and portraits:)

Wedding coordinator: Holly at Exquisite Affairs Productions

Joan Stoeckel - Wow! Can't wait to see the rest! Beautiful! And you and your assistant were such a pleasure, Jessica. Joan Stoeckel

How exciting, Lifestyle Expert Jennifer Tuma-Young mentioned my studio on NBC 10 Show Philadelphia this morning.  Her segment was all about great ways to de-stress this holiday season.  She included my child portraits, designed with whimsical overlays, as well as great money saving tips for a fun and stress free family get together.  Check out her awesome inspiration below:)

P.S.   10 more days till Christmas…but who’s counting!

{ Sharri • Monmouth University Bridal Portrait }

The holiday season is here, and I find myself playing catch up with my fall posts.  I’m sorry internet…I will try to do better in the future:)

Sharri wanted to do a bridal portrait at Monmouth University with a splash of trash the dress.  I think most brides love the idea of a trash the dress session, but don’t actually want to ruin their dress.  I completely agree, in fact, I think the term “trash the dress” has a broad definition.  It can simply mean more daring poses than the wedding day such as sitting on the ground or dirty pavement, or it can literally mean trashing your dress i.e. in the ocean or rolling around in the dirt.  Either way…I love shooting these sessions.  Often they are so much more relaxed than the wedding day and you get some really fun shots.  Sharri was awesome…she chose to climb a tree in her dress.  How a cool is that…tuille and satin contrasted with bark and foliage.  I love it.  I totally give her props:)

Enjoy!

Vida Carson - Oh my gosh you did SUCH an awesome job! She looks gorgeous.

Alecia Lauren - I love them! You are amazing!

{ Danielle & Danny • Central Park NYC Engagment Session }

Danielle and Danny are one of those couples that make you feel so happy to be around them.  First of all, they have the best sense of humor!  I mean, there were points where it was hard to shoot because I was cracking up!  Danny is one of those guys who completely thinks outside the box, so when I was coaching…he did things I have never seen before.  It was awesome!  I told them to touch noses, and he touched Danielle’s nose….literally with his hand- not his nose!

These two are such kindhearted people whose love you can just see and feel.  I keep finding myself smiling when I look at these photographs because you can see how much they love eachother. Central Park is also a  location very special to them…it was where Danny proposed, looking towards the Bow Bridge.

It was a pleasure to share this afternoon with you both:)

Enjoy!
